Microblading is an ancient form of tattooing, albeit the practice is very sophisticated today. Microblading uses tiny sterile needles (microblades) to make numerous incisions in the skin on the eyebrows, which are then filled with a special pigment which is designed especially for the process. The depth the incisions are made are not as deep as tattoo ink is injected and this, along with the pigment, ensure that the effects are long lasting with good aftercare and a colour boost, but not permanent. I use several types of anaesthesia to ensure you are as comfortable as possible during the process.
Microblading is always a two part procedure, this will always be the case at any professional studio. Each course includes the initial treatment and a colour boost within 9 months of the initial treatment. This is important to ensure you are perfectly satisfied with your new look and so that we can top up the colour in your skin to give you the long lasting and even results you desire. Please check our treatments tab for other great offers such as a full head of 100% human Remy hair extensions fitted in your own home or our clinic for only £180 or why not consider a set off individual semi-permanent lash extensions, to complement the wonderful brows you will have after microblading for only £36 instead of £45.
Do you have sparse, overplucked or uneven eyebrows? Do you suffer from a medical condition that has caused patchy, uneven hair growth or no growth at all? Are your brows a casualty of the 90's trend of pencil thin brows.
If any of the above describes you then Microblading could be just what you are looking for.
We endeavour to make the microblading treatment as comfortable as possible. Whilst we are aware of some studios performing the microblading procedure without any anaesthesia at all, we use a plethora of effective anaesthesia to ensure each and every client is kept as comfortable as possible. We also allow plenty of time for each appointment to allow for breaks and anaesthesia top ups where necessary.
We do not use inks, we use pigments, specifically we use Biotouch Pure allergy tested, single use pigments to eliminate the risk of cross contamination. Find out more bout BioTouch products HERE
Whilst we have a wide range of pigments available, we usually make a bespoke colour mix for each client . To do this we take into consideration your skin, hair and eye colour, skin type, the brow colour and effects you like and fitzpatrick colour theory. This allows us to create the perfect colour for you and your brow goals.
We endeavour to be easy to contact, you can ask a question or book now by clicking our "BOOK NOW" button or through our facebook page or by calling us. You will be asked to attend a free, no obligation consultation a day or so before your procedure to discuss your goals, treatment plan, undertake a patch test to check for allergies and pay a £30 deposit.
Do your research, primarily always ensure that the CURRENT licences, certificates and insurance documents of the artist you choose are available to view on their website or at consultation.
Do not drink alcohol for 24 hours before your procedure, alcohol thins the blood. This encourages excess bleeding which can cause poor pigment retention. Alcohol also does not promote fast effective and efficient healing. NO dutch courage!
Stay well hydrated, drink plenty of water.
Get plenty of rest.
Organise any reference material that you would like to bring along to your appointment, such as a picture of your dream brows.
Ensure your brows are waxed into shape and tinted if necessary at least three days before your appointment. Alternatively take advantage of our ultra precise brow treatment for only £15 instead of the usual £25.
Avoid using exfoliaters on the treatment area or any skincare products containing glycolic acid, Retin A, Renova A and alpha hydroxy acid. These products can cause irritation and be inflammatory to the skin at the best of times.
Ensure you participate in a thorough consultation, putting emphasis on clearly communicating your goals and aspirations for the treatment. Here at on point beauty bar we use photo galleries, my portfolio and stencils to ensure we are very clear about the brows and effect you would like to achieve.
Avoid caffeine products for the day of your appointment.
Avoid saunas, heavy sunlight and working out for 24 hours before your appointment, heat will expand your pores.
Do NOT take Aspirin, Niacin, Vitamin E and/or Ibuprofen, omega-3, unless medically necessary, 48-72 hours prior to the procedure.
Please advise your artist if you have or will be having the following treatments 2 months prior or after your microblading treatment.
· Botox or other fillers
· Chemical Peels
· Laser treatments
You will notice a dramatic difference to your eyebrows the moment you step out of my clinic. Throughout the healing process there are a number of stages that you will notice and your care of your eyebrows during this time will have a considerable impact on the long term outcome of the procedure.
Every treatment is bespoke for each client and, as such, specific aftercare instructions will be provided to you verbally in your appointment, and on a sheet to take away, along with an aftercare kit.
Here are some of the things you will want to know:
As you can see by the above graphic, the healing process has six main stages. When your brows start to scab and fall and the colour seems lighter, your naturally going to feel a little disheartened. But don't worry! They will come back by the time you have your colourboost, and after your colour boost you will have long lasting perfect brows. Provided you look after them that is.
You will come back for a colour boost! It's included in the price of the treatment to ensure you come back so I can shade in further any faded areas, and go over any faded lines. At your colour boost we can make minor adjustments to the shape if necessary and this is the appointment where the look you settle on will be locked in place, with excellent results, I always take as much time as we need to get it right.
